We all know I am a massive fan of both blogging and Christmas and the fact that the festive season is soon approaching makes the inner giddy child in me burst with joy. When I saw that Viola had set … Continue reading
It’s no secret that I LOVE Christmas. Being surrounded by family, tacky jumpers and the general festive buzz in the air. There is no better feeling than helping others, especially at Christmas. Heart radio have set up a Giving Tree … Continue reading
December is here. How and when did that happen? This year seems to have gone so quick. The 25th is fast approaching and everyone can feel that Christmas buzz in the air. We all know what that means… piles of presents and hours of wrapping.
It sounds so cliché but the saying ‘It’s the thought that counts’ really does apply to how a gift is wrapped. Everyone must admit that an eye-catching present heightens the excitement and anticipation. With so much choice and nearly every shop stocking hundreds of different gift wrap, I find the hardest thing is actually narrowing down what my wrapping theme is going to be.
Some may call me crazy but I LOVE wrapping presents. I can fundamentally say that I was ridiculously indecisive this year, picking a theme was difficult but exciting. Turns out that I ended up deciding between two complete opposite themes.
1) Brown paper tied with red string, handmade tags from luggage labels, all tied together with red ribbon bows and candy canes.
2) Metallic florals with royal blue and fuchsia ribbon.
As you can tell from the photo below. I went with the latter.
Wrapping Paper: Boots £3 per 3m
Gift Tag: Marks & Spencer £1.75 per 5 pack
Fuchsia Satin Ribbon: eBay £2.05 22m roll
Gold Organza Ribbon: eBay £2.39 22m roll
The gold brings the festive touch, while the fuchsia satin ribbon adds a pop of colour bringing it all together.
To me the way something is wrapped should be as appealing as the actual gift inside. Being creative with my wrapping is a fun way to get into the Christmas spirit – Once all my presents are wrapped I know that Christmas isn’t far away. I am really pleased with the theme I picked this year… hopefully all my friends and family will feel the same! Who knows what I will pick for 2014. Maybe I should start planning now seeing as it took me so long to decide this year.
What theme have you decided on this year?
